4 bottles of Red wine from 4 extraordinary female winemakers

Dormilona Skinnie Sauvignon Blanc 2019

Skin contact Sauvignon Blanc from Josephine Perry. Hand harvested in the cool mornings from a vineyard in Willyabrup, the fruit is then crushed into a mix of amphora and open bins. In stays on skins for a mix of 6 weeks to 6 months before blending and bottling with no filtration, no fining, no Sulphur. It’s not your classic Aussie Sauv Blanc, it’s funky, textural & super smashable.

Borachio Flat Out 2019

Semi carbonic Merlot, topped up with rosé from Alicia Basa & Mark Warner who are quite simply making smashable wine from organic fruit and without any additions. They are persistently delicious and exciting. Fresh strawberries, saltwater pool, leading to a savoury herbaceous finish. Inbetween a rosé & light red. Chill it down.

Beck Ink, Judith Beck 2018

Beck Ink is a blend of 90% Zweigelt and 10% Saint Laurent and is fermented in stainless steel before being aged in wooden casks for 12 months. A dark ruby with a violet rim. On the nose, scents of sour cherry, sweet spices, cinnamon and cloves. On the palate, light and refreshing with soft tannins and an elegant spiciness leading to a juicy finish.

Giuliana Vicini Montepulciano d'Abruzzo 2019

Giuliana Vicini was the name of Chiara’s grand aunt. When she was born, the parents expected a boy. They didn’t want her to marry, because stye didn’t want to pay a dowry, a s such they hid her away. When her parents passed she lived with her younger brother, Chiara’s grandfather. He Inherited all of the land, and because he was a man he had to be in charge of the estate. She thus lived a truly tragic life. Chiara has inherited these vineyards and makes this wine in honour of Giuliana. A women who was thwarted, but with her story now told and her future with her in control.
Fresh and youthful yet with surprising ripeness & depth, cherries and
plums leap from the glass and run around in a joyfully hyperactive way.
