Tragolargo Blanco, Bodegas Vinessens 2019
Moscatel, Merseguera. Alicante, Spain
The Tragolargo Blanco is a wine from Alicante and produced with Moscatel and Merseguera grapes that are vinified spontaneously with a period of maceration on the skins. It is presented to the glass of a yellow color tending to orange. Nose that stands out for its delicious orange peel notes, which balance deliciously with the floral tones of the Moscatel grape. On the palate it is soft and of good freshness which makes it wonderful with food.
Rafa Bernabé and his wife Olga set up the project in order to help protect local traditional viticulture, especially where there was a risk of some vineyards being sold to property speculators. The vineyards are all dry grown, old bush vines with very small yields. Rafa wants to respect this sense of place by intervening as little as possible both in the vineyard and in the winery.
