Pre-colonial Shiraz, dry grown and organically farmed from Clarendon, Fleurieu McLaren Vale. Hand-picked and 75% de-stemmed whole berries with 25% whole bunch. Open topped fermented and pressed to old French barriques. Racked and bottled with no additions. Elegant and restrained. Brilliant blue fruits with a subtle sprinkling of white pepper. Really earthy and loads of rocky minerals.
Having worked as a Sommelier & with a long history working vintages in the Hills since 2011, James Madden started making his own wine in 2017.
Working out of Schulkin’s shed in Ashton alongside Architects of Wine’s Dave Caporaletti, James's focus is on sourcing the right organic fruit and he refuses to use any sulphur in the wines. The approach he takes is experimental, playful and fun. The wines are anything but normal for the grape variety that is on offer, but will never disappoint.
