Riesling Triple Pack
A triple pack of 3 very different Rieslings.
Little Bastard, Staffelter Hof 2019. Mosel, Germany.
The Little Bastard was one of the first naturals Jan made and it is a bastard in a region which is so focused on Riesling. It still is mainly Riesling, but with the right amount of Sauvignon Blanc and a tiny bit of Muscat & Muller Thurgau. They all ferment separately with various amounts of skin contact before they go into a big old barrel for just three months. It is a very wild, but easy drinking white wine with aromas of peach and lime.
Delatite Riesling 2018 Victoria, Australia
The fruit for the 2018 Riesling was hand picked in the cool of the day and then whole bunch pressed. The juice was cold settled, racked and was then allowed to undergo a wild fermentation by the natural yeast of our vineyard. A portion of the juice was fermented in large oak vessels to enhance further complexity. The resulting wines were finally blended, filtered and bottled without the use of any fining agents or artificial additives resulting in a wine that is pure and only expresses the flavours of the fruit.
Madame Flock Schmetterling Müller-Thurgau-Rielsing 2019 Mosel, Germany
The Schmetterling is a cuvée of organically grown (uncertified) Müller-Thurgau and our Wolfgang Riesling vineyard in Kobern. The cuvée is a flocking delight: the phenolics of the whole bunch fermented Müller blended with the richness of the Koberner Riesling make for a mouthwatering powerhouse of a wine. Nectarean with a hint of bruised peach on the nose, balanced by a perfectly ripe citric fruit basket on the palate, framed by a subtle structural acidity and a lean phenolic backbone all combine to drive the palate home with a lengthy finish.
